I am concerned about getting a high score on Turnitin. Where can I get advice?
Answer
Turnitin is a piece of plagiarism-prevention software used at Queen Mary. The software scans your work at the point of submission and compares the content with a large database of resources to look for similarity.
A high similarity score does not necessarily mean that plagiarism has occurred. If you get a high score, your tutor will check your Turnitin report in more detail and make a judgement about whether there is any evidence of plagiarism.
If you want help interpreting your Turnitin report or want general advice about plagiarism or referencing, you can get one-to-one support from Academic Skills Centre.
You can read more about how Turnitin works on Queen Mary's E-learning website.
