Why do e-books and other e-resources that we don't have access to appear in the Library Search results?

Answer

As well as providing a portal to accessing our collections, the 'Articles and more' tab on Library Search is also a way to discover other content that may be useful.

When using the 'Articles and more' tab on Library Search you can change your results so that you can also see items that the Library does not currently subscribe to. Select 'Advanced Search' and then untick the 'Full Text' box.

Where we don't have access, we may be able to source these through purchase or inter library loan. For more information, see our 'What should I do if Queen Mary Library doesn't have the item I am looking for?' FAQ.

If you are searching for an e-book we recommend that you use the 'Books, e-books and DVDs' tab. For more information see our FAQ 'How do I search for e-books?'.
